Night Shift

I am dreading Wednesday night. David is moving to a different area in the hospital and subsequently getting a new schedule. He will be working from 6 pm to 6 am. UGH! Since it's a 12 hour shift he also works for 3 on 2 days off then 2 days on and 3 days off. Overall for the month of June he'll only work for 15 days. But even on his days off he is going to be keeping the schedule of sleeping all day and staying up all night so he doesn't have to switch back and forth and go crazy. I am not excited. This means I will be sleeping alone at night, and not really EVER getting a break from the boys. And not nearly enough time with my Honey. So far it's only for the month of June but could go for up to 3 months. But then he might have the chance to get the day shift. Same 12 hour schedule just am to pm instead and same 15 days off. Once can only hope!

ahhh, you've been introduced to the crummy military scheduling. Good thing is, it might get better but prepare yourself because they change often. My husband first worked one week day shifts, one week 3-11pm shifts, and it was like that for I think a year, then it went to day, day, swing, swing, off, off, day, day, etc...now it's Mon-Fri 7am -3pm which I love...so you see, it may suck but you'll find ways to make it work and get your "me" time...hang in there friend!
